Weddings at the Old Round Church |

The Old Round Church can be rented for weddings, christenings and other special occasions from May through October. Its picturesque setting and elegant historic interior will make any ceremony memorable. Its distinctive 16-sided shape with seating at both ground and balcony levels provides a cozy, intimate environment, no matter how large or small the event. The clean, unadorned walls and wood floors offer marvelous acoustics. The Old Round Church seats 150 comfortably and has parking space available in an adjacent field as well as along Round Church Drive. It is handicapped accessible, with a ramp at the south entrance. The church has electricity, but no heat, air-conditioning or running water. A port-o-let behind the building provides limited restroom facilities. An antique melodeon and organ in the church are available for use; groups may also provide their own musicians and instruments.
The Old Round Church is managed by the Richmond Historical Society, an all-volunteer non-profit organization. The church is available for rent to persons and groups regardless of race, creed, affiliation, or sexual orientation. Built between 1812 and 1814, the Old Round Church is a National Historic Landmark, renowned for it well-preserved period detail and distinctive design. It is also one of the most well-known and widely-photographed historic sites in Vermont. The Richmond Historical Society is currently accepting reservations for the 2008 and 2009 seasons.
