The Richmond Historical Society was formed in 1974 when the town’s Icon, The Round Church, was closed to the public when it was discovered the beams holding up its belfry had been damaged by dry rot and powderpost beetles. The RHS conducted fundraisers to repair and maintain the church for all to see and use. Since that date RHS has expanded its mission to preserve and share the history of Richmond, Vermont. Every contribution of historical artifact or a financial contribution, helps the organization meet its mission.
